Stream pasteurizers are installed in medium and large scale food industry production facilities due to their high efficiency, process precision and ability for full automation. This type of pasteurizers are designed and manufactured according to the specifics of the product for which they will be used: fresh milk, fruit juice, wine, beer, mineral water.
In contrast to the volume pasteuriser, which is an isolated vessel with a defined volume, in the case of flow pasteurisers the mode of operation is organised as a flow.
The product to be pasteurised is fed into a constant level vessel. From there, it is drawn off by means of a pump and passed through a plate heat exchanger, where its temperature is raised to the required level. It proceeds to another vessel where it stands for a short interval and finally proceeds to cooling on the principle of regeneration.
A characteristic feature of the flow pasteurizer is that it is designed and built according to the specifics of the fluid to be pasteurized: fresh milk, fruit juice, wine, beer, mineral water. Once set, the operating mode of the unit is very difficult to change and it is not advisable to do so.
