Extractors are a specific type of industrial equipment with applications in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. They are used in the processing of essential oil crops (leaves, root, flower or seeds) to obtain concretes and absolutes from herbaceous plant matter by means of an organic solvent.
Extractors are used to extract certain phytoconstituents from herbaceous crops using an organic solvent in order to produce essential oils. To obtain the extraction process, a complete system is installed that includes: Extractor, cooler, condenser, collection vessels, vacuum apparatus and auxiliary equipment.
The extractors that Stabilengineering-Alpha manufactures are designed and constructed to a specific customer specification. Most commonly, they are a vertical cylindrical vessel of stable construction with legs, a coil type water jacket along the shell and bottom of the unit, and insulation. The water jacket carries the heat carrier and cold carrier. A suitable agitator can be mounted on the top or bottom of the vessel. The facility is also complete with coil inlets and outlets, product inlet, solvent inlet. There may be a grass hopper and filtering top bottom.
