Dosing screws are equipment used to automate the basic transport and dosing process of dry bulk products, granulates or ready-mixes in assembly lines. This type of dosing screws is used in large production plants in the food, chemical and other industries.
Dosing screws are also called weighing vessels. They are used in more complex production lines where powder and slurry products need to be conveyed and automatically fed, such as: sugar, salt, flour, cereals, powdered chemicals, etc.
Thanks to the special weight sensors (senso sensors), which are a mandatory part of the equipment, there is a constant control of the weight and/or level of the raw material in the inlet hopper mounted to the equipment. From the hopper, the pre-set quantity of product per production cycle is automatically fed and the outlet mounted screw conveyor conveys the product. For additional process precision, an automatic valve (gate valve) can be placed at the outlet of the screw, which cuts off the set dose even more accurately.
