A butter churn, is a specific type of equipment used in dairy processing plants to churn butter from cream (usually cow’s butter). Stabilengineering-Alpha designs and manufactures butter churners in stainless steel and to customer specifications.
Our butter churners are manufactured with a truncated octahedron design – proven to be the best shape for churning butter.
The cream of the fresh milk, previously extracted by a separator, is poured into the butter churn, which churns it to a finished product, and the buttermilk is drained through a separate tap. The churning takes place by rotating the whole vessel around its horizontal axis, so it is fitted with a tubular safety frame with interlock which disengages the drive when the frame is raised for service.
The butter churn is mounted on a frame stand with adjustable heels. A cold water douche system is placed on top of the vessel to allow the butter to solidify as the temperature is lowered. The inner surface of the container is treated in a way that prevents the butter from sticking to the walls.
