Stabilengineering-Alpha manufactures standard and industrial stainless steel hydrocyclones. These units are used to separate sand and other contaminants from borehole water for the purposes of small, medium and large production plants.
The hydrocyclones that Stabilengineering-Alpha manufactures can be standard irrigation hydrocyclones or high performance industrial hydrocyclones.
When water is pumped from a borehole, grit, silt or other contaminants are introduced into the water. It is therefore a practice to install a hydrocyclone immediately downstream of the pump to separate out the solids. The water enters at high pressure through the tangential inlet of the hydrocyclone, swirls from there, the particles fall down, and the purified water moves up to the outlet.
Depending on the design of the vessel, the collected contaminants are cleaned in two ways. Standard hydrocyclones have a tap that opens. Industrial hydrocyclones have two gate valves, with particles falling between the two valves and only the lower gate valve being opened when cleaning.
