Heat exchangers are part of the industrial equipment of any manufacturing plant where heating or cooling of a product is required. For heat carriers most often hot water or steam is used, and for cold carriers – cold or ice water, freons and others.
Depending on their construction and mode of operation, heat exchangers are of several basic types: plate, shell-and-tube, thin-film shell-and-tube and tube-in-tube heat exchangers.
Stabilengineering-Alpha manufactures shell-and-tube and thin-film shell-and-tube heat exchangers. In both types, the inside of the tube contains multiple small tubes through which either the product or the heat exchange medium passes. What is specific about thin-film shell-and-tube heat exchangers is that the product does not fill the entire tubular space inside the tube, but flows into each of the small tubes.
